Job Summary
BMS / HVAC Controls Technician to design, program, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair automation controllers/electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures. Responsibilities include developing and implementing automation programming, graphics design, and commissioning for new construction projects while servicing existing clients; performing low voltage electrical work (maintenance, installation and repair of motor control centers, switches, panelboard components, low voltage wiring, transformers, control devices and IO devices); troubleshooting hardware and sensors; shutdowns, lock-outs, and start-ups of automation systems; onsite estimating; providing automation recommendations; supporting HVAC service teams during installations; and adhering to company policies. Education/certifications include an electrical engineering certificate (recommended) and N4 certification; 3+ years HVAC automation experience in ICI; valid Class 5 AB driver’s license; eligible for union membership; willingness to travel to client sites; willingness to undergo background and reference checks.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical or Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering certificate recommended
- N4 certified
- 3+ years HVAC automation experience in ICI sector
- 3+ years estimating experience considered an asset
- Clean & Valid Class 5 AB Driver’s License and abstract
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Willing to join Local Union 424
