Job Summary
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and perform repairs on medical equipment and systems across FirstHealth of the Carolinas and contracted customers. Execute diagnostic imaging coverage using service manuals, electronic documentation, test equipment, and diagnostic software while prioritizing patient safety, regulatory compliance, and cost containment. Maintain knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to troubleshoot issues effectively. Requires a valid driver's license, Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Engineering, and strong mechanical and computer skills. This role supports the Corporate Biomedical Services Department in managing equipment throughout the region.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Engineering or related field
- Equivalent military training
- Significant industry work experience
- Successfully completed hospital-based internships as part of their education
- Basic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Good mechanical skills
- Computer skills including use of email, spreadsheets, word processing, and computerized maintenance management systems and reporting
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to quickly adjust to meet customer needs
- Valid Driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Engineering or related field preferred
- Equivalent military training or significant industry work experience accepted
- Candidates who have successfully completed hospital-based internships as part of their education are preferred
- CBET – ACI Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician certification
- Other industry certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Net+, or Security+
