Job Summary
Interview patients prior to testing to analyze body size, physical condition, age, and medical history for accurate radiographic procedures. Set, adjust, and control complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, including portable machines on patient floors and in the operating room. Assess technical quality of radiographs, perform repeats as necessary, and document patient information for exam interpretation. Provide patient and employee safety protection, administer contrast materials and medications, and assist radiologists with patient care. Manage receptionist duties after hours, read reports to physicians, and answer inquiries regarding procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety. Maintain flexibility to accept additional responsibilities as the department grows while demonstrating competency across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or obtain current licensure as a RT(R) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent
- Must hold or obtain current BLS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
