Job Summary
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Bahasa Melayu and English aligned with the school's curriculum framework. Develop comprehensive lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments to strengthen students' language proficiency, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis. Foster a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and confident communication while differentiating instruction for diverse abilities. Monitor and assess student progress, provide timely feedback, maintain accurate academic records, and prepare students for internal and external examinations. Integrate cross-curricular links, promote reading culture, and lead literacy programs such as debates and writing competitions. Maintain proactive communication with parents and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum alignment and school improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Bahasa Melayu, Education, Linguistics, Literature, or a related discipline
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Diploma in Education, B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in BM and/or English at the secondary school level
- Strong subject knowledge in grammar, composition, comprehension, and literature (for both languages)
- Good classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities and cultural backgrounds
