Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Technician responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment at Miller Waste Systems to minimize downtime across compost sites. Diagnoses electrical and hydraulic issues, coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance, operates the company heavy equipment service truck, and coordinates subcontracted work and equipment rentals. Travel between compost sites may be required, and work occurs outdoors with potential weekend hours. Must adhere to safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety Act; ideal candidate has a Heavy Equipment Technician License and a valid G license, and must provide their own complete tool set.
Required Qualifications
- Heavy Equipment Technician License
- Valid G Driver’s License with a clean abstract
- Must supply and maintain their own complete set of mechanic tools
- Willingness to travel to other compost yards as needed
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic issues
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be flexible with working hours including weekends
