Job Summary
Manufacture blood products and samples by scanning donor units, processing them into transfusable components, and performing leukoreduction. Execute complex manufacturing tasks including pooled product creation, freezing, washing, and deglycerolizing while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory management. Operate computer programs for production, labeling, storage, and sample tube management based on visual inspections and cross-departmental data. Communicate effectively with internal customers and vendors while prioritizing quality and quantity production goals. Work Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with weekend differentials, following a mandatory four-week training schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment
- Good computer skills
- Ability to use a wide variety of programs and laboratory equipment
- Attention to detail
- Accurate documentation
- Good decision-making skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work on a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods
- Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds
- May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time
- May be required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, face shields, etc.
- Full attendance is mandatory
- May require flexibility to work a variable schedule that includes weekends & holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
