Job Summary
As a Blood Component Manufacturing Technician, you will manufacture blood products and samples, process units into transfusable components (red cells, platelets, plasma) and perform leukoreduction. Responsibilities include meeting production goals with accurate documentation, strong inventory control, data entry, operating component production software, labeling, storage, and sample tube management; performing complex manufacturing tasks (pooled product manufacturing, freeze, wash, or deglycerolizing, pathogen reduction); and effective communication with internal customers, vendors, and volunteers. May require a variable schedule including weekends/holidays to meet hospital needs. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in walk-in refrigerators/freezers. Shift: Tuesday-Saturday, 0700-1530. Pay: $21.25/hour base plus $2/hour weekend premium. Training is full-time for ~4 weeks. Minimum qualifications include High School or equivalent and 2 years in regulatory/lab/manufacturing settings; strong computer skills and teamwork capability.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred
- Advanced computer skills
- Ability to use a wide variety of laboratory equipment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- Good communication and teamwork
