Job Summary
Connect with donors personally to explain the impact of their donation and ensure they feel comfortable returning. Collaborate with teammates to transport, setup, and teardown equipment at mobile blood drive sites in local communities, including driving Red Cross vehicles. Maintain detailed records to ensure all collected blood meets regulatory requirements for safe transfusion. Listen to donor stories and create a welcoming environment while adhering to all safety procedures. This role supports the American Red Cross's mission to deliver lifesaving blood to hospitals through mobile drives at businesses and schools. Staff work a variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with overnight travel required in some locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- The ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- A minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Availability for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work overnight travel in some locations
- Ability to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites
Desired Qualifications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience
- Prior leadership experience
