Job Summary
Connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation while maintaining a welcoming environment. Collaborate with teammates to transport and setup equipment at mobile collection sites in local communities, ensuring all safety procedures are followed during blood collection. Drive Red Cross vehicles and handle setup and teardown of equipment at donation sites, requiring a minimum height of 60 inches. Maintain detailed records to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements for safe transfusion. Work a variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with overnight travel possible in some locations. Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record
- DOT certification
- Ability to pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements
- Medical certification of at least one-year duration
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
Desired Qualifications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
- Prior leadership experience
