Job Summary
Connect with donors personally, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their lifesaving blood donations. Collaborate with teammates to transport and setup equipment at mobile collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors. Drive Red Cross vehicles to local communities, schools, and businesses while following all safety procedures and regulatory requirements for blood collection. Maintain detailed records to ensure donations meet goals and can be safely transfused. This role involves variable scheduling including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with overnight travel possible. Starting pay is $20.66/hour. You will receive paid phlebotomy training and work within the American Red Cross's humanitarian network.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record
- DOT certification
- Ability to pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements
- Medical certification of at least one-year duration
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Availability for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work overnight travel in some locations
- Ability to work a variable schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
- Prior leadership experience
