Job Summary
Join the American Red Cross Blood Collection team in Manhattan, KS as Blood Collection Staff – Customer Service. You will use your healthcare and customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process, collaborate with teammates to transport and set up equipment at donation sites, create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and follow safety procedures to ensure lifesaving blood donations can be safely transfused. The role includes paid phlebotomy training with opportunities to grow your healthcare skills within a nationwide humanitarian organization. Responsibilities include connecting with donors, maintaining a welcoming environment, ensuring accuracy and safety, and assisting with mobile blood drives and driving Red Cross vehicles when needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required
- A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
- Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required
