Job Summary
Connect with donor volunteers, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their lifesaving blood donation. Collaborate with teammates to transport, setup, and teardown equipment at mobile collection sites in local communities, businesses, and schools. Maintain a detailed, safety-focused environment while collecting blood that meets regulatory requirements for hospital transfusion. Operate Red Cross vehicles to reach drive locations, adhering to a variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel. Requires a valid driver's license, minimum 60-inch height for vehicle operation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Paid phlebotomy training provided for those without prior medical experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Availability for variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to travel overnight in some locations
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
