Job Summary
Connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation while maintaining a welcoming environment. Collaborate with teammates to transport and setup equipment at collection sites, drive Red Cross vehicles, and tear down equipment after drives. Collect lifesaving blood donations following all safety procedures to ensure samples meet regulatory requirements for hospital transfusion. Maintain a detailed, safety-oriented approach throughout the day. Variable schedule includes early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight travel. Starting rate is $18.00/hour. Paid phlebotomy training provided for those without prior medical experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license with good driving record
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work overnight travel in some locations
- Ability to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites
Desired Qualifications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.)
- Prior leadership experience
