Job Summary
Collaborate with teammates to transport and setup equipment at local community collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors. Collect lifesaving blood donations while following all safety procedures and ensuring samples meet regulatory requirements for hospital transfusion. Personally connect with donors to listen to their stories and explain the impact of their contribution. Drive Red Cross vehicles to mobile locations, requiring a minimum height of 60 inches for safe operation. Work a variable schedule in Tucson, Arizona, which may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight travel. Paid phlebotomy training is provided with no prior medical experience required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Ability to work variable hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work overnights throughout the year
- Ability to travel for overnight mobile blood drives
