Job Summary
Connect with donors personally, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation to create a welcoming environment for repeat visits. Collaborate with teammates to transport and setup equipment at mobile collection sites in local communities, including driving Red Cross vehicles and managing setup/tear-down at businesses and schools. Collect lifesaving blood donations while following all safety procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure samples are safely transfused. Maintain a detailed orientation throughout the day to meet collection goals. This role offers paid phlebotomy training with no prior medical experience required, supporting a mission where success is measured in people helped and communities made whole.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Ability to work variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work rotating weekends
- Ability to work overnight travel in some locations
- Ability to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites
- Ability to collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for volunteer donors
- Ability to personally connect with donors and listen to their stories
- Ability to follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations
- Ability to transport and setup equipment at collection sites in local communities
