Job Summary
Connect with volunteer donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their lifesaving blood donations. Collaborate with teammates to transport and setup equipment at mobile collection sites in local communities, creating a welcoming environment while following all safety procedures during the collection process. Drive Red Cross vehicles to reach businesses, schools, and other locations, ensuring teams can safely operate equipment. Maintain detailed records to meet regulatory requirements and ensure blood is safely transfused. Work a variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, with overnight travel possible in some locations. Starting rate is $22.89/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Current, valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
- Good manual dexterity
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes
- Minimum height of 60 inches
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications
- Availability for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work overnight travel in some locations
- Ability to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites
Desired Qualifications
- Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience
- Prior leadership experience
