Job Summary
The Blood Bank Subject Matter Expert (SME) will perform testing related to blood typing, cross matching, and blood product compatibility, report on compatibility, assess supply chains, and provide reports and briefings to senior leadership. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience, a minimum of three years in clinical laboratory roles, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities. Expertise in transfusion medicine and relationship management with stakeholders is crucial.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Hematology) OR minimum three additional years' experience as Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- Minimum three years of experience in clinical laboratory scientist role working with DOD military or civilian customers
- Strong analytical skills and experience with transfusion medicine
- Expertise in blood typing, cross matching and blood product compatibility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and manage expectations with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to assess supply chains
