Job Summary
Document financial transactions, prepare reports, and assist in compliance with regulations for Block Advisors small business clients. Perform bookkeeping and payroll services including bank reconciliation, sales tax filing, and financial statement generation. Enter financial data into accounting systems while raising questions regarding client accounting irregularities. Partner with Tax Advisors and Account Managers to deploy referral methods, upload returns to the Fulfillment Network, and compile monthly and quarterly reporting. Communicate with clients, suppliers, and vendors to ensure service delivery. Maintain accurate records and support the overall development of the business services client base.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices, generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
- National Bookkeeper and Payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association or ability to successfully obtain certifications
- Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Open Office experience
- Ability to multi-task in multiple window applications
- Familiarity with bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and database management
- Ability to adapt to new tools and automation
- Analytical and detail oriented
- Good verbal and written skills
- Client Services experience
- Ability to complete assigned projects on time with minimal supervision
- Ability to correctly interpret and apply complex instructions, policies and regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
