Job Summary
Assist operators in the Chip Bleach Plant and Lurgi areas with daily operational tasks, including routine rounds, inspections, and equipment monitoring. Monitor gauges, levels, temperatures, pressures, and flows to report abnormalities, while collecting process samples and assisting with testing and quality checks. Support start-up, shutdown, and cleaning activities, maintain clean work areas, and clean spills or remove debris as needed. Help prepare equipment for maintenance, report mechanical issues, and move materials, chemicals, tools, and supplies. Operate mobile equipment as trained and qualified, and assist with chemical unloading, storage, and inventory activities following established procedures. Work in a hot, cold, wet, and noisy industrial environment, requiring the ability to walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of continuous work experience in a manufacturing or production-type environment
- Previous industrial, manufacturing, mill, or plant experience
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience operating mobile equipment
- Ability to walk, climb stairs, ladders, and elevated structures
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and noisy industrial environments
- Ability to work around chemicals, steam systems, pumps, tanks, conveyors, and rotating equipment
- Ability to wear respiratory protection and other required PPE
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and Holidays
- Ability to work overtime as needed
