Job Summary
Coordinate daily drilling and blasting activities by assisting the Blaster with drill pattern layout, seismograph setup, and monitoring blast patterns against digging operations. Maintain daily production schedules, account for explosives and drill supply inventory, and complete trip manifests, shot reports, and cost sheets. Follow safety policies while performing site security duties and attending required company meetings. Transport explosives across state lines as needed. Requires two years of experience with drills and explosives, military explosive handling background, and ability to obtain blasting licenses.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree
- at least two years' experience working with drills and explosives
- previous military experience in explosive handling
- basic blasting problem solving skills
- Ability to travel out of town as needed
- Ability to obtain blasting licenses
- Must be able to pass ATF screenings
- Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs., 30 - 40% of the time
- Ability to work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments
- Ability to stoop and bend 30 – 40% of the time
