Job Summary
Coordinate daily drilling and blasting activities by assisting the Blaster in charge with drill pattern layout, seismograph setup, and monitoring blast patterns against digging operations. Maintain daily production schedules, manage explosives and drill supply inventory, and complete trip manifests, shot reports, and cost sheets. Follow company safety policies while performing site security duties and attending required meetings. Transport explosives across state lines as needed and demonstrate proficiency in blasting techniques through on-the-job training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree
- at least two years' experience working with drills and explosives
- previous military experience in explosive handling
- basic blasting problem solving skills
- Ability to travel out of town as needed
- Ability to obtain blasting licenses
- Must be able to pass ATF screenings
- Ability to lift 50 - 100 lbs.
- Ability to work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather environments
- Ability to stoop and bend 30 – 40% of the time
