Job Summary
Blaster Trainee (Construction) assists the Blaster in charge with coordinating daily drilling and blasting activities, and is an on-the-job trainee/apprentice learning blasting and job-site supervision. Requires experience with explosives or military explosive handling. Responsibilities include helping set up and maintain blasting production schedules, site security, attending meetings, assisting with seismographs and drill pattern setup, monitoring the relationship between blast pattern and digging, tracking explosives and drill supply usage, and performing related paperwork. This role involves travel as needed and emphasizes safety, training, and progressive proficiency in blasting techniques.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree
- MUST have at least two years' experience working with drills and explosives, or previous military experience in explosive handling
- Demonstrates basic blasting problem solving skills
- Able to travel out of town as needed
- Ability to obtain blasting licenses
- Must be able to pass ATF screenings
