Job Summary
Union Tank Car Company seeks production team members in Ville Platte, LA. Primary duties include assembling minor products/components on a workstation/bench or conveyor, performing tasks such as checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, pasting, sniping, tying, trimming, and assisting with basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and cleaning. The role requires 0-2 years of experience, ability to follow instructions, strong attention to detail, teamwork and independent work capability, and a high school diploma or GED. Applicants may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, work various shifts, and comply with safety, drug/alcohol, and background checks. Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or pass a Combined Basic Skills Test
- Have experience in machine operation
- Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly instructions
- Have analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division
- Be available to work any shift, and be dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime, as allowed per the union contract
