Job Summary
Blaster I on 2nd shift at Transco Rail Services seeking a safety-first team contributor to operate blasting equipment for interior/exterior railcar surfaces, perform surface prep with blast media, and maintain blast/recovery systems. Responsibilities include adjusting equipment, completing preventive maintenance, working in adverse weather, handling physical tasks (lifting up to 50 pounds), maintaining clean work areas, and passing required screenings. Required Qualifications
- Operate blasting equipment to remove scale, paint and other foreign substances from inside and/or outside of railcars or equipment
- Adjust equipment as necessary to perform efficient and proper blasting
- Surface preparation of non-finished railcars and components using various blast media methods
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures for blast and recovery systems
- The ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
- The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics
- Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance
- Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards
- Able to pass drug screen, physical
