Job Summary
Plan and design blast patterns aligned with geological assessments and production requirements. Conduct pre-blast inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and site standards. Load, tie-in, and detonate explosive charges according to blasting plans and legal mandates. Monitor blast results, evaluate effectiveness, and adjust strategies as needed. Collaborate with quarry managers, drill and blast supervisors, and safety officers to coordinate schedules and minimize disruptions. Maintain accurate records of explosive use, inventory, and blast reports. Inspect and maintain blasting equipment while enforcing safety protocols for the team and ensuring area clearance. Requires a Certified Blaster's License, technical drawing interpretation skills, and minimum five years of heavy industrial quarry blasting experience.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Blaster's License
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blast design software
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in quarry blasting or a similar heavy industrial environment
