Job Summary
The Blaster is an entry-level role responsible for blasting, cleaning, and preparing tank car interiors by removing debris, grit, weld spatter, and surface imperfections. Duties include grinding, vacuuming, and applying protective materials to ensure surfaces meet quality standards; maintain equipment and uphold a clean, safe work environment in a physically demanding industrial setting. On-site work arrangement: 5 days a week with overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass Combined Basic Skills Assessment Test
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules and manuals
- Strong focus on safety and quality
- Ability to work any shift, including overtime, in accordance with union contract
