Blast Technical Lead

Job Summary
Blast Associate Technical Lead in the Building Engineering Division (UK-based, Leeds) delivering blast protection design and analysis for diverse projects. You’ll provide expert input on blast modelling, lead CFD analyses, oversee project delivery and technical assurance, engage clients and sector leads, contribute to business development, and mentor the team. Responsibilities include CFD modelling, complex structural analysis, writing employer’s requirements and specifications, tender management, and developing concept/design schemes while coordinating with Security & Technology engineering groups.
Required Qualifications
- Broad technical knowledge of security with in-depth expertise in blast analysis and design
- Proven ability to determine operational and strategic requirements for design
- Experience in CFD modelling and structural analysis of blast effects
- Proficiency with ANSYS, AutoDyn, or equivalent software for 3D modelling and FSI
- Strong understanding of physical security solutions (doors, locks, walls, fencing, glazing) and performance standards
- Experience in threat reduction, structural vulnerability analyses, façade and glass evaluation, high-speed impact analysis
- Excellent document writing skills and attention to detail
- Solid project management capabilities
- Strong technical and design skills in structural design and security assessment
- Good numerical and analytical abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with senior stakeholders
- Ability to obtain or hold Security Clearance
- Preferred qualifications: relevant qualification in security/engineering; Professional certifications (RSES, CSyP, PSP, MSyl); Experience using AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to work within a hybrid/remote UK office environment
