Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift meetings, delegate daily work assignments, and execute scheduled work orders to meet customer requirements. Resolve day-to-day issues to achieve production, safety, shipping, and quality goals while expediting work orders through the manufacturing process. Complete production, scrap, and rework reports; train, develop, and maintain training records for employees. Provide input on disciplinary reports and evaluations, record daily attendance, and submit payroll reports. Assist the supervisor in incident and accident investigations. Maintain a safe working environment, administer the safety program, and act as the First Responder for the Plant. This role supports the Blast, Paint, and Hydrostatic Testing groups within Westerman, Inc.'s oil, gas, and nuclear equipment manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in manufacturing / production environment
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in the relevant area (Blast, Paint, Hydro, etc.)
- Basic computer skills – MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with management and other employees to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability to support, promote, and adhere to the Westerman philosophy and Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills
- Previous leadership experience
- Basic ability to troubleshoot production/personnel issues
- First Aid/CPR Training
- Emergency Response Training
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift (10 – 12 hours)
- Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work
- Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds
- Must have a strong range of motion
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend repetitively
- Must be able to see, speak, read, and hear
- Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices
- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts
- Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
- Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds
- Must be physically able to crawl in and out of vessels
- Must have close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to operate required tools safely
