Job Summary
Blast Hole Drill Operator at MD&B responsible for safely performing all construction or quarry drilling per the established job program to meet production targets. Duties include following safety policies, daily maintenance of equipment, understanding drill patterns and layouts from the Blaster Foreman, maximizing drill supplies, inventorying accessories, communicating terrain issues to the Blasting Supervisor, completing drill reports, hole sheets, and signed timecards in the Field Accounting system, participating in Foreman/safety/job-specific meetings, and working unsupervised with safe practices. Requires 5+ years hydraulic equipment operating experience, valid license and transportation, construction experience, mechanical aptitude, ability to lift 50-100 lbs, and passing pre-employment physical/drug screen and ATF background check. Training certifications (Driller I/II) and willingness to perform other duties as assigned are noted. The role is on-site with a strong emphasis on safety, maintenance, documentation, and potential career advancement within an employee-owned company with ESOP/401(k) benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years hydraulic equipment operating experience
- Valid Driver's License with own reliable transportation
- Must have personal cell phone for communications
- One year experience in the construction industry
- Experience as a construction laborer
- Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
- Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must successfully complete background screening for ATF
