Blast Engineer

Blast Engineer responsible for design, analysis and planning for structural engineering works and for the protection of buildings and infrastructure from explosion and dynamic effects (blast loading), as well as for security system engineering works. Liaise with consultants, contractors and authorities from inception to completion; ensure timely submission of plans and reports to authorities and clients; manage projects to meet time, cost and quality objectives; prepare tender specifications and drawings for tendering construction contracts and evaluate submissions; coordinate and monitor on-site work including periodical site inspections and meetings during construction. Requirements include a good degree in Civil/Structural/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers Board, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla and ETABS. Knowledge of design and analysis of structures under dynamic loading (blast, blast tests, shock and vibration) would be advantageous, as would understanding of latest electronic security technologies. A strong interest in counter-terrorism and homeland security, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team, and self-motivation and willingness to take on new challenges are also sought. Candidates with more than 4 years of relevant experience would be considered for the Senior Blast Engineer position.
