Job Summary
Take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and present menus to patrons. Collect payments, prepare checks itemizing meal costs and sales taxes, and check identification to ensure guests meet minimum age requirements. Write orders on slips, enter them into computers, and garnish or decorate dishes in preparation for serving. Clean tables, counters, and dining areas; sweep, mop floors, vacuum carpets, and tidy server stations. Stock service areas with coffee, food, tableware, and linens, and roll silverware to set up stations for large parties. Escort customers to tables, answer phones for reservations, and provide information about local areas.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent
- Must have good understanding of the English language
- previous guest/customer relations training
- Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by first day on the job
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system
Desired Qualifications
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service preferred
