Job Summary
PM Part-Time Bistro Attendant at Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront South handles food and beverage orders, serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests, collects payments, maintains the restaurant area and equipment, and supports hosting duties. Responsibilities include taking orders, itemizing checks, handling POS transactions, verifying age for alcohol, presenting menus, recommending items, preparing drinks and wine service, setting up dining areas, assisting with reservations and to-go orders, performing cleaning tasks, and providing guests with local information. Key skills include hospitality, order accuracy, wine and beverage service, customer relations, knowledge of liquor/wine/food service certification (preferred), and proficiency with POS systems. Education requirement is High School/GED; certification in liquor/wine/food service is preferred and TIPS/CARE certification by day one is required or to be obtained on site.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or Work Equivalent
- Must have good understanding of the English language and previous guest/customer relations training
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service preferred
- Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by first day on the job
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system
