Job Summary

Birth Records Specialist with notary duties at Riley Hospital. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient records, scheduling tests and procedures, signing patients in/out, providing receptionist functions for the unit, and ensuring effective communication between physicians, unit staff, and ancillary departments. Notary training to be completed within 4–6 weeks; notary duties include completing Paternity Affidavits as required. Requires attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and proficiency in MS Office. Cerner experience is preferred. Prior clerical experience is required."

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Completion of Medical Assistant, Medical Secretary classes, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Must be able to complete required (if applicable) training program
  • Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Must complete notary training within the first 4–6 weeks of employment
  • Serve as a Notary and complete Paternity Affidavits as required
