Job Summary
Create an inviting learning environment following the Creative Curriculum and state standards while developing daily lesson plans that address individual student needs. Assess progress through anecdotal records and provide materials supporting social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. Coordinate activities with teacher assistants, parents, and volunteers, and enrich the program via field trips and community visits. Maintain accurate legal and district records, communicate regularly with parents through conferences and home visits, and assist with student screening for Pre-K enrollment. Participate in professional development and collaborate with community agencies to support educationally disadvantaged children.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Birth to Kindergarten
- Must be eligible for a B-K license in North Carolina
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, calculators, printers, copiers, etc.
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
