Job Summary
Manage and execute inter-site process transfers and lead the industrialization of new strains from development to commercial manufacturing. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on production portfolio optimization, process performance, and cost efficiency by identifying opportunities at manufacturing scale. Investigate process-related challenges to lead root cause analysis activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and knowledge transfer. Monitor key operational performance indicators while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Support capital investment projects with process expertise and basic data. This role is based at the manufacturing site in Niebüll, Germany, with the possibility of regional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or Engineering degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in bioprocess engineering within an industrial or pilot-scale manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial microbiology, fermentation technologies, and downstream processing operations
- Good knowledge of different unit operations including fermentation, centrifugation, membrane filtration, cryogenic freezing, and lyophilization
- Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and managing technical projects
- Good understanding of process equipment including pumps, valves, instrumentation, piping systems, and utilities
- Practical knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics and their application in industrial production environments
- Proficiency in leveraging digital tools and data-driven approaches to improve process performance, quality, and cost efficiency
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel regionally to support manufacturing sites and process-related projects
