Job Summary
Bioprocess Development Engineer responsible for leading client programs and hands-on process development in a Bioprocess R&D setting. Youâll manage laboratory experiments and analytical testing on scalable bioreactor-based manufacturing processes for advanced therapies, lead technical discussions with clients, author development documentation, and drive tech transfer and process characterization activities. Requires expertise with bioreactors, cell counting and characterization, and strong collaboration across cross-functional teams; must be able to coordinate weekend experimentation near Ventura County. This role combines bench work with client-facing responsibilities and ongoing process improvement in a fast-growing biotech environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with at least 3 years specifically in Advanced therapy manufacturing (e.g. iPSC-derived therapies, CAR-T, NK cells)
- Knowledge of bioreactors and process control, and cell characterization methodology such as cell counting, metabolic analysis
- Excellent organizational skills to assist in developing detailed experimental plans
- Strong oral and written communication skills including generation and presentation of progress reports
- Excellent collaboration skills to execute large-scale bioreactor runs in coordination with other operators
- Proximity to Ventura County and flexible schedule to allow for weekend work on experiments as needed
