Job Summary
Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States by capturing electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures. Screen applicants entering the facility to ensure valid appointment notices and identification, utilizing crowd control barriers to maintain safe, organized entry. Provide front-line customer service with a cheerful demeanor while safeguarding Personal Identifiable Information and conducting periodic facility checks. Manage administrative paperwork for tracking processing times and visitor logs, and assist in calling law enforcement or first responders when necessary. This on-call position requires availability Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:15pm for substitute coverage as needed, with hourly compensation at $21.36 under the Service Contract Act.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization
- US Citizenship
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak and write in English
- Ability to stand upright on one's feet for scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks
- Ability to hold and grasp applicant's hands to obtain quality fingerprints
- Ability to work in a high paced environment with the public
- Ability to type and use basic computer skills
- Successful completion of the biometrics training and become certified within sixty days
- Must be able to speak a foreign language
