Job Summary
Biometric Screener needed to join QuadMed’s Biometrics Team in Newport News, VA for onsite biometric health screenings and flu vaccine administration. Responsibilities include manual blood pressure checks and finger-stick blood collection, conducting screenings in health-center and client environments, counseling participants on cardiovascular risk factors, assisting with biometric incentive program implementation, and flu vaccine administration. Requires strong customer service, ability to work with diverse populations, and proficiency with data entry/EMR. CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within 60 days; Medical Assistant certification options are preferred but not required. This PRN/As-needed role emphasizes reliability and flexibility with a 4–6 week advance schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of medical assisting, or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- Experience with manual blood pressure readings
- Experience with finger stick capillary collection technique
- Experience with patient counseling of cardiovascular risk factors/biometric data and implications to health (preferred)
- Certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT preferred but not required (for Medical Assistant candidates)
