Job Summary
Biomedical Technician II (BMET II) responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision; may serve as a technical advisor to clinical staff; assists in developing equipment specifications; performs performance assurance inspections, maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification; coordinates with subcontractors and vendors; ensures regulatory compliance and accurate service documentation; maintains equipment databases and inventory; requires strong computer skills, customer-facing communication, and travel as needed. Skills include complex electronics, interpretation of error codes, data integrity, clinical engineering practices, and strong interpersonal abilities. Must possess a 2-year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent, with CBET certification strongly preferred; valid driver’s license and possible site travel.
