Job Summary
Biomedical Technician II (BMET II) responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. Serves as a technical advisor to clinicians on safe operation of clinical equipment, assists in developing specifications for new equipment, and maintains accurate equipment records. Requires strong technical skills with biomedical devices, experience with PA/ESI/OVP procedures, regulatory compliance (MEMP), and ability to coordinate with subcontractors and vendors. Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and a valid driver’s license with travel as needed. Location-based responsibilities centered in Baton Rouge, LA, with opportunities to support national TRIMEDX operations.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment
- Technical certification (CBET) strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license; travel may be required
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree not required but experience acceptable
- Willingness to travel based on customer or business needs
