Job Summary
The Biomedical Technician II (BMET II) is responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The role may serve as a technical advisor to clinicians, assists in developing specifications for new equipment, and ensures adherence to regulatory and organizational standards (MEMP and related policies). Key duties include performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, operation verification procedures, repair and calibration of equipment, supervision of subcontractors/vendors as needed, and maintaining accurate service documentation and inventory. The position emphasizes maintaining equipment databases, regulatory compliance, customer relationships, and ongoing professional development. Travel may be required based on customer or business needs. Strong computer skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a valid driver’s license are required. Education requirement is a 2-year degree in a technical/electronics field (or equivalent experience) with CBET certification strongly preferred.
