Job Summary
Biomedical Equipment Technician II conducts cost-effective maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical devices at customer sites to ensure proper operation and meet customers’ needs. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, operational verification, and servicing of equipment; completing documentation for billing and regulatory compliance; and communicating with clinical staff about equipment features and functionality. Requires an associate degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or biomedical equipment technology (or CBET/equivalent), a valid driver’s license, willingness to travel and support a 24/7 schedule, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Proficiency in a range of equipment areas and ability to train others on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and quality/process documentation is also needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or biomedical equipment technology; CBET or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and support 24/7 schedule
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment
- Proficiency with documentation for billing and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office
