Job Summary

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and troubleshooting on medical devices across hospital and clinical environments. Maintain accurate records in the computerized maintenance management system and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Tag and inventory new equipment, assist with installations, and maintain parts and tool organization. Educate users on proper operation and participate in on-the-job training and continuing education programs. Prepare to assume 24-hour on-call repair responsibilities within six months of hire.

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
  • Minimum: Associates Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET/EET) required
  • Military training in Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET) required
  • Must be familiar with analog and digital electronic principles and theory
  • Must have the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematic drawings
  • Must be able to build and set-up test circuits for specific tests and measurements
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally
  • Must have demonstrated computer skills
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to prepare to assume 24-hour on-call repair responsibilities within 6 months of hire

Desired Qualifications

  • AAMI Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred
  • Internship or hands-on training in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred
  • 0-2 years of related experience in a clinical or technical setting
