Biomedical Technician

Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems within kidney care clinics. Manage medical supplies inventory, including receiving deliveries, conducting counts, and purchasing service parts. Perform water/dialysate sample collection, conduct trend analysis on water systems, and document all repairs and maintenance activities. Train colleagues on operational maintenance to ensure patient safety and assist in planning and installing biomedical equipment. Complete required technical training programs and provide scheduled after-hour on-call coverage as needed. Collaborate with facility staff to meet regulatory and OSHA requirements while participating in monthly technical and regulatory meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence
  • Less than 1-year related experience
  • Manual dexterity - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment
  • Ability to create a safe and efficient work environment, OSHA – 6S – Infection Control
  • Ability to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday availability
  • Ability to take Fresenius Medical Care maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable federal and state laws

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in electronics / biomedical technology
  • Prior experience working in a mechanical, automotive, or construction industry, dialysis, or medical technical setting
