Job Summary

Perform incoming and periodic inspections on new and current medical equipment. Conduct quality assurance checks to verify components and performance against manufacturer literature. Install, calibrate, and test devices per manufacturer literature and department authorization. Manage inventory and asset documentation using VA's electronic system. Execute preventive maintenance checks and troubleshoot malfunctions to identify defect sources. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various medical devices. Document all activities according to VA standards. Requires five years of healthcare equipment maintenance experience, an associate degree or equivalent military training, and Public Trust eligibility. Travel to client locations is required.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance
  • A two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training
  • Demonstrated competency to perform operational verification procedures, planned maintenance, and repair service on various types of medical equipment
  • Understanding of regulatory agencies' requirements, industry regulatory requirements and International Standard Organization standards
  • Familiarity with the setup and application of test equipment
