Biomedical Informatics Research Analyst I [On-site] - ON SITE

Job Summary

Coordinate research projects for funded grants on Value Sets by scheduling interviews, conducting chart reviews, and performing basic data analysis using Excel and REDCap. Collect, organize, and evaluate data from electronic health records and study subjects while developing forms and questionnaires for data collection. Assist with grant submissions, IRB documentation, and manuscript preparation, including editing drafts and creating presentation materials for conferences. Manage project timelines, maintain bibliographic libraries, and prepare faculty curricula vitae and biosketches. Work Monday through Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, with potential for one hybrid day per week.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Interest in healthcare and the use of technology to support clinical care
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with REDCap
  • Ability to adapt frequently
  • Self-starter mindset
  • Ability to collect, organize, and evaluate data from a variety of sources including the electronic health record and interviews with study subjects using both quantitative and qualitative approaches
  • Ability to develop forms and questionnaires to collect the appropriate data
  • Ability to perform literature reviews, retrieve journal articles, and maintain a bibliographic library of supporting material
  • Ability to stay abreast of trends in clinical informatics
  • Ability to help with the preparation of talks and presentation materials including PowerPoint slides, tables, figures, and posters
  • Ability to conduct analysis and write reports summarizing progress, trends, and conclusions related to research and Center-sponsored projects and activities
  • Ability to present study concepts and synthesized progress in group settings
  • Ability to edit, prepare, and submit formal research reports and manuscripts for publication in journals and conferences
  • Ability to prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB) documentation and forms for study protocol approvals and amendments
  • Ability to perform project coordination tasks, including managing project timelines and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to perform a variety of administrative support which may include correspondence, calendar/meeting scheduling, mail processing, printing, organizing materials, taking meeting minutes and documenting project work
  • Ability to create informational materials related to research or Center priorities for dissemination to participants, center members, researchers, or the community
  • Ability to update faculty members' curricula vitae
  • Ability to prepare biosketches, letters of support, and other grant submission-related documents
  • Availability for on-site work at 2525 West End Ave. in Nashville, TN
  • Availability for standard daytime business hours Monday-Friday
  • Potential availability for 1 hybrid day per week
