Biomedical Field Tech (ND/SD w/company car)

Job Summary
Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety checks, and operation verifications on complex biomedical equipment across multiple client hospital sites. Repair, install, and calibrate intricate devices while serving as a technical advisor to clinical staff on equipment operation and selection specifications. Inform supervisors of repair statuses, unusual situations, and customer concerns, and direct subcontractors to ensure proper service delivery. Maintain equipment databases, verify inventory status, and conduct incoming inspections for new, trial, and loaner devices. Ensure regulatory compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan and all applicable agency policies. Schedule visits to client sites, with the majority of the week spent on-site and 25% of time working remotely. Requires consistent regional travel up to 75%, a valid driver's license, and complex computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment
- Associate's degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent military experience
- Two years of equivalent experience (alternative to degree/military)
- Valid driver's license
- Complex computer skills, including the ability to administrate a system, interpret error codes, defragment hard-drives, replace power supplies, interpret computer codes, and apply networking concepts
- Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 75%
- Ability to work remote (from home) 25% of the time
- Adherence to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history
- Demonstrated ability to perform periodic inspections of current inventory status
- Demonstrated ability to verify the completion of security analysis for new customer equipment
- Demonstrated ability to perform Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial and evaluation, rental, and loaner equipment in addition to permanently assigned equipment inventory
- Demonstrated ability to make recommendations regarding inventory
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Demonstrated ability to discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians
- Demonstrated ability to provide a positive representation of TriMedx services by integrating the core values into job performance
- Demonstrated ability to inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns
- Demonstrated ability to work with, direct, and document the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery
- Demonstrated ability to maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education
- Demonstrated ability to ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate
- Demonstrated ability to perform performance assurance (PA) inspections

- Demonstrated ability to conduct electrical safety inspections (ESI)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex and intricate biomedical equipment
- Demonstrated ability to repair, install, and calibrate complex and intricate biomedical equipment
- Demonstrated ability to serve as technical advisor to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and use of clinical equipment
- Demonstrated ability to assist in developing specifications for the selection of new clinical equipment
