Job Summary
Install, calibrate, repair, and inspect medical equipment by evaluating newly acquired devices, attaching control numbers, and performing complete electrical safety testing. Respond to equipment problems in clinical or research areas to troubleshoot and solve issues, conducting repairs to board or component levels using diagnostic software. Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on devices as required, making periodic rounds to assess system operation. Participate in equipment evaluations, installations, and upgrades, including software revisions. Instruct department and technical staff on testing, calibration, and repair procedures while documenting all inspections, repairs, and teaching activities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Biomedical Technician
- Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License]
- Experience as a biomedical technician
- 1-2 years experience as a biomedical technician
Desired Qualifications
- Generic - HR Only preferred Personal Drivers License
- New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles preferred Personal Drivers License
- MGH Security RMV Check/Registry of Motor Vehicles Driving Report - MGB Internal preferred
- Demonstrates and understands the importance of interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with team members, front line staff and vendors
- Understands electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles
- Ability to learn and perform maintenance and troubleshooting of medical devices involving appropriate test equipment and software diagnostic tools
- Ability to learn equipment maintenance, operating procedures, and repair procedures from training materials and courses
- Ability to use computer-based tools
