Job Summary
Conduct biomedical equipment maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance cycles, including calibrating, inspecting, and overhauling military inventory. Perform technical inspections of new, used, or reconditioned Army medical equipment and execute electrical safety testing on clinical devices. Ensure equipment compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory requirements while maintaining records, writing reports, and coordinating outside repairs. Prepare support documentation, purchase requisitions, and training materials as needed. Work a 40-hour week Monday through Thursday at Sierra Army Depot with an estimated 15% travel requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) or more years of experience as a BMET
- As a minimum, BMET's shall be a graduate of the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical Equipment Repairers Course or certified through the International Certification Commission (CBET) or have at least earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Equipment Technology
- A background check will be conducted
- Possess the ability to pass a NACI background investigation and acquire a CAC
- Possess the ability to pass a NCIC investigation and scored credit check per federal and contractual requirements
- Must be a US citizen
- Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Familiar with the biomedical maintenance field and its concepts, practices, and procedure
- Possess the ability to lift up to 40 pounds of equipment; to push/pull equipment carts; and to kneel, stand, bend, and reach during equipment repair
- Willingness and ability to frequently travel
- Travel as required, estimated 15%
