Biomedical Equipment Technician I - Fargo, ND

Job Summary
Evaluate, diagnose, and perform repairs on customers' basic biomedical equipment while conducting planned maintenance and safety inspections. Communicate technical issues to clients in simple terms, maintain daily contact to ensure resolution, and document all repair actions and reports according to schedule. Assist experienced technicians on complex repairs, manage spares and test equipment, and ensure calibration meets regulatory standards. Work onsite in the Fargo, ND area with a rotating on-call schedule including weekends for critical issues. Requires an associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work long periods standing or moving.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Equivalent military education
- Participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program
- High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to be available after hours
- Willingness to work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary
- Travel for extended periods to service off site locations
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs unassisted
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to reach at, above and below shoulder level
- Ability to flex/extend neck
- Good hand and finger dexterity
- Specific vision abilities including color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
- Willingness to comply with GEHC's standard background check
- Willingness to comply with post-offer drug test
- Willingness to obtain and/or provide proof of required immunizations
- Willingness to comply with additional drug tests or background checks during employment
- Willingness to comply with federal government background check if assigned to support a contract with the federal government
